Waupaca's Handyman Services is a small, local handyman and construction business owned by me, Joshua Hadlock, serving Waupaca and Central Wisconsin. This policy explains, in plain language, what information I collect through my website at https://www.waupacashandyman.com/ and when you contact me, how I use it, and the choices you have. When I say "I," "me," or "we," I mean Waupaca's Handyman Services. When I say "you," I mean anyone who visits the website or reaches out to me.

Information I collect

Information you give me. The website lists my phone number, email address, and mailing address so you can reach me directly. When you call, text, email, message me on Facebook, or use a contact, booking, or account feature on the site (if one is available), I may receive:

Your name, phone number, email address, and mailing or job site address
Details about the project or repair you need, including photos you choose to send
Your preferred times for an estimate or appointment
Billing and payment details needed to invoice you and record your payment
Anything else you decide to include in your message

Information collected automatically. My website is built and hosted on Wix.com. Like most websites, Wix and its partners automatically collect some technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages you view, the website that sent you here, and the date and time of your visit. This is mostly used to run the site, keep it secure, and understand general traffic.

Payment information. I accept credit cards, cash, and checks. If you pay by card, the card details are handled by a payment processor. I do not store full card numbers on my own systems.

How I use your information

To respond to your calls, texts, emails, and questions
To visit the job site, prepare estimates, and give you quotes
To schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments and work
To do the work, keep job notes, and follow up afterward
To send invoices, take payments, and keep business and tax records
To keep the website running, secure, and working properly
To meet legal obligations and protect my business and customers

I only use your information for running my business and serving you. I do not use it for anything unrelated without asking you first.

Calls, texts, and emails

If you give me your phone number or email, you agree that I can contact you by call, text message, or email about your inquiry, estimate, scheduled work, invoices, and related customer service. I keep these messages focused on your job.

Text messages (SMS). If you text me or agree to receive texts from me:

Messages will be about your inquiry, estimate, appointments, or job. Message frequency varies.
Message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. You can reply HELP for help, or contact me directly.
I will never sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Email. You can ask me to stop sending you email at any time by replying to let me know or by emailing josh@waupacashandyman.com.

If you opt out, I may still send a short message to confirm your request, and I may still need to contact you about work that is already scheduled or an open invoice, unless you tell me another way you prefer to be reached.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files saved by your browser. My website platform, Wix, uses cookies and similar technologies that are needed for the site to work, keep it secure, remember settings, and measure basic site traffic and performance. The site is also delivered through a security and content delivery service (Cloudflare) that may set a cookie to help block bots and attacks.

At this time I have not added any separate advertising trackers to the site. If I add tools like Google Analytics or social media pixels in the future, I will update this policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, some parts of the site may not work as expected.

Maps, social media, and other sites

My Contact page may show a Google Map so you can find my location. If the map loads, Google may collect information about your visit under its own privacy policy. My site also links to my Facebook page. Other websites, including Facebook and Google, have their own privacy policies, and I am not responsible for how they handle your information. I encourage you to read their policies before sharing information with them.

How I share information

I do not sell your personal information. Ever. I only share it when needed to run my business, such as with:

Service providers who help me, like my website host (Wix), email and phone providers, payment processors, scheduling or invoicing tools, and my accountant or bookkeeper. They may only use your information to provide their services to me.
Subcontractors or suppliers, only when needed to complete your job (for example, sharing a job site address for a delivery)
Government authorities or others when required by law, such as a court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of my business, my customers, or others
A buyer or successor if my business is ever sold or transferred, in which case this policy would still apply to your information

How long I keep information

I keep your information only as long as I need it for the reasons in this policy. In general, that means for as long as you are a customer or have an open inquiry, plus as long as needed for tax, accounting, warranty, and legal purposes. When I no longer need it, I delete it or securely dispose of it.

How I protect your information

I take reasonable steps to keep your information safe, such as using password protected accounts and trusted service providers, and limiting who can see it. The website is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection. No website, email, or storage system is ever 100 percent secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information like full card numbers by email or text.

Children's privacy

My website and services are meant for adults. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, please contact me and I will delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask me to:

Tell you what personal information I have about you
Correct information that is wrong or out of date
Delete your information, unless I need to keep it for legal, tax, or business record reasons
Stop contacting you by text, call, or email

To make a request, contact me using the information below. I may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the laws of your state, and I will honor those rights as required.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time, for example if I add new features to the website or change how I do business. When I do, I will post the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top. If the changes are significant, I may also let you know in another way.
