Terms of Service

Waupaca's Handyman Services (Waupaca Handyman Services LLC)

Effective date: October 12, 2026

Hi, I'm Josh

Waupaca's Handyman Services is a small, local handyman and construction business owned by me, Joshua Hadlock, serving Waupaca and Central Wisconsin. These Terms of Service explain, in plain language, the ground rules for using my website at https://www.waupacashandyman.com/ and for estimates and work I do for you. When I say "I," "me," or "we," I mean Waupaca's Handyman Services. When I say "you," I mean anyone who visits the website, contacts me, or hires me for a job.

Agreeing to these terms

By using my website, contacting me, booking an appointment, or accepting an estimate, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website. My Privacy Policy, posted on this website, explains how I collect and use your information and is part of these terms.

If a written estimate, contract, or invoice I give you for a specific job says something different from these terms, the written estimate, contract, or invoice controls for that job.

Using my website

Information is general. The website is general information only. Descriptions of services, photos of past work, and any prices or examples on the site are there to give you an idea of what I do. They are not a quote, an offer, or a promise that I can do a particular job. Every job is different, and I can only give you a real price after I understand the work.

Acceptable use. Please use the website only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • Try to hack, overload, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the website or its accounts

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to copy or collect content or information from the site

  • Upload or send anything harmful, such as viruses or malicious code

  • Pretend to be someone else or give false information

  • Post or send anything unlawful, threatening, harassing, or offensive

Member accounts. If the website offers a member login, you are responsible for keeping your login information private and for activity under your account. Please let me know right away if you think someone else is using your account. I may suspend or remove an account that is misused.

Online booking. If the website offers online booking, a booking request is not a confirmed appointment until I confirm it with you by phone, text, or email.

My content. The website content, including text, photos, logos, and design, belongs to me or is used with permission. You may view and share pages for personal use, but please do not copy, reuse, or sell my content, logo, or photos without my written permission.

Other websites. My site may show a Google Map and link to my Facebook page or other websites. Those sites are run by others under their own terms and policies, and I am not responsible for their content or how they work.

No guarantees about the site. I work to keep the website accurate and running, but it is provided "as is." I cannot promise it will always be available, error free, or up to date.

Estimates

I am happy to talk through your project and give you a free-form estimate by phone, text, email, or in person. An informal or verbal ballpark is just that, a rough idea. An estimate only becomes binding once it is written and you accept it, for example by signing it or approving it in writing (a text or email works).

My estimates are based on what I can see and what you tell me. Sometimes a job uncovers hidden conditions that nobody could reasonably know about ahead of time, such as rot, mold, water damage, pests, faulty or outdated wiring or plumbing, or structural problems. If that happens, I will stop and let you know what I found, explain your options, and give you an updated price before doing the extra work. The price and schedule may change based on what we agree to.

Unless the estimate says otherwise, a written estimate is good for 30 days. After that, material prices and my schedule may have changed, so I may need to update it.

Where Wisconsin law requires it, my written estimates or contracts will include any required notices, such as the construction lien notice.

Changes to the work

If you want to add, remove, or change something after you accept an estimate, or if hidden conditions require extra work, we will agree on the change in writing (a signed change order, text, or email is fine) before I do the work. The written change will describe the work and any change to the price or schedule.

Pricing

Unless your estimate gives a fixed price, my labor is billed hourly, plus a per-visit trip charge, at the rates stated in your estimate. Materials, supplies, equipment rental, disposal fees, and permit fees are billed as stated in your estimate or invoice. Applicable sales tax is added where required.

Scheduling, cancellations, and delays

I will work with you to set a start date and time that fits both of our schedules. Start dates and time frames are my best estimate and are not guaranteed.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give me as much notice as you can, ideally at least 24 hours. If I arrive and cannot do the work because of a late cancellation, no one is home, or the work area is not accessible, I may charge the trip charge stated in your estimate, plus any special order materials I already bought for your job that cannot be returned.

Weather, material shortages, supplier delays, illness, emergencies, and other things outside my control can cause delays. Outdoor work in particular may need to be moved because of rain, snow, cold, or wind. If that happens, I will let you know as soon as I can and reschedule with you. I am not responsible for delays caused by things outside my reasonable control.

If you have a legal right to cancel a contract (for example, under Wisconsin consumer protection rules for certain sales made at your home), nothing in these terms takes that right away, and I will give you any cancellation notice the law requires.

Your responsibilities

To help the job go smoothly and safely, I ask that you:

  • Give me safe and reasonable access to the work area, including a place to park and unload, during the scheduled times

  • Clear the work area of furniture, valuables, breakables, vehicles, and personal items before I arrive, or let me know ahead of time if you need help with that

  • Keep pets and children safely away from the work area while I am working

  • Provide access to electricity, water, and other utilities needed for the job at no charge

  • Tell me about anything I should know, such as known problems, hidden pipes or wires, past repairs, or any homeowners association rules

  • Confirm that you own the property or have the owner's permission to have the work done

If I cannot do the work, or the work takes longer, because these things were not in place, extra time and trips may be billed at the rates in your estimate.

Permits

Some jobs need a building permit or inspection. Who is responsible for getting and paying for permits will be stated in your estimate. If the estimate does not mention permits and one turns out to be needed, we will talk about it and agree on it in writing before that part of the work begins. Delays caused by permit offices or inspectors are outside my control.

Materials

When I supply materials, I will use materials that are suitable for the job and as described in your estimate. If something becomes unavailable, I will check with you before substituting a similar product. Materials I buy for your job stay my property until they are paid for. Manufacturer warranties on materials and products are passed along to you, and those warranties are handled by the manufacturer.

Customer-supplied materials. You are welcome to supply your own materials, fixtures, or appliances. If you do, you are responsible for making sure they are correct, complete, in good condition, and on site when needed. I do not provide any warranty on customer-supplied items, and I am not responsible for defects in them, problems caused by them, or extra time needed because they are wrong, damaged, or missing. That extra time will be billed at the rates in your estimate.

Payment

Unless your estimate says otherwise, payment is due when the work is completed. For larger jobs, your estimate may require a deposit or progress payments at certain stages of the work. When it does, the amounts and due dates will be stated in writing.

I accept credit cards, cash, and checks. Card payments are handled by a payment processor, as described in my Privacy Policy.

Late payments. Late fees and returned check fees, if any, will be as stated on your invoice and only to the extent allowed by law. If an account goes unpaid and I need to send it to collections or take legal action, you agree to pay reasonable collection costs as allowed by Wisconsin law. If payment is not made, I may also have lien rights under Wisconsin law.

If you have a question about an invoice, please contact me right away so we can sort it out.
